PhD in Urban Planning, Design and Policy at the Politecnico di Milano, Luca has been PhD visiting fellow at the Department of Geography and Environment of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Prior to Nesta Italia, Luca worked as researcher and consultant for the Department of Biotechnology at University of Milano Bicocca, the Milan Center for Food Law and Policy, the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, the IEFE research centre at Bocconi University, the Institute for Social Research (Milan), the European Research Center on Cooperatives and Social Enterprises (Euricse/Trento) and the Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation (Apulia Regional Government).
His research interests include the analysis and evaluation of public policies; the co-production of services; open and responsible research and innovation; the relationship between organizations, culture and local development; strategies for decentralized technological developments; behavioral economics.
He has published in several national and international scientific journals, in 2014 with Sara Le Xuan published the book Imprese Comuni: Community Enterprises and Urban Regeneration in the UK for Maggioli Editore. In 2018 with Flaviano Zandonai he published the book Local Italy: the domains of the “community sector” in Italy, published for Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation publisher.
