Marco Demarie is Head of Strategic Planning, Studies and Impact Assessment and Head of the Philanthropy and Territory Area of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation. Previously he was Director of the Giovanni Agnelli Foundation. In the same period he was Director of Altreitalie, an international study journal on Italia origin populations in the world.
Among his fields of interest and research of urban and territorial studies: he has carried out and coordinated numerous researches on the socio-economic development of urban areas, in particular of Turin, investigating what role scientific research and technological innovation can play in it, as well such as cultural and museum policies in terms of promoting the image and the international prestige of the city as well as the activation of virtuous circles for the economy and tourism.
During his working experience Marco Demarie has achieved specific expertises in the field of philanthropy and of the third sector. He has been a member of the Governing Council of the European Foundation Center in Brussels and sits on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations. Marco holds a degree in Economics from the University of Turin.
